Market: Dundalk to win both halves
Odds:
Marching towards retaining their Premier Division title, a high-flying Dundalk will welcome Cork City to Oriel Park on Friday night.
Starting with the hosts, picking up another routine 2-0 win away at Sligo Rovers last weekend and extending their winning run to six matches on the bounce, Dundalk are marching towards retaining their Premier Division crown. Holding a seven-point buffer over Shamrock and also still dreaming of landing a famous domestic sweep, a huge part of their continued rise has been down to their form at Oriel Park. Vinny Perth s men have won each of their last six matches in Dundalk and have not tasted a domestic defeat on home soil since August 2018.
As for the visitors, while Dundalk might be marching towards claiming back-to-back Premier Division titles, Cork City find themselves in a very different position. Coming off the back of another worrying display in their 2-1 loss at home to Waterford last weekend, the former champions are enduring a three-match losing run and their form on the road has played a huge part in what has been a woeful campaign. Cork have managed to record just a single victory on the road since the start of May and have famously struggled when up against Friday s hosts. Suffering a 2-0 loss when the two sides met back in May, Cork have lost their last four matches against Dundalk.
Bet: Dundalk to beat Cork City in both halves 8/11 for Friday s Irish Premier Division showdown
